jambo rafiki's!!!

so today we took our first matatu ride. 24 people in a small van with with only 15 real seats, a neon blue light, and blaring kenyan music. It was a blast. last night we had an awesome dinner with the family Molly stayed with before. They were great people and made us a really good dinner. Today we went to beacon of hope, a place where women affected with aids go to learn life skills and take care of themselves and their families. We got a tour of the place and did many different jobs that they were very greatful for. We met a lot of really great people and they even taught us a little bit of swahili. Our experience on the matatus on the way home from beacon of hope was a little different than the ride there; crazy traffic, our drivers alomost hit 10 people and pulled over to yell at one of the passengers for probably 5 minutes, and at one point our driver decided to pull over and let some one else drive. We just had sausage and chips for dinner while we all got attacked by these huge flies. Sam is in love with Patricia, our host at the guest house, lanie wants to bring home a child, and molly is planning her move here after college. Thats all for now folks.

We love you all,

talk to you soon

  1. It's good to hear that the trip is going good so far. I am proud of the work you all are doing and am praying for your safety and that you are able to touch many, many lives. Don't hold nothing back...give it your all with the full knowledge that God leads your paths and has your backs.
